For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of Holy Communion (Epiphany 4)

This Sunday we gather for worship to share communion together at Grace Church. In this season of Epiphany, we continue to discover more and more about what God reveals to us through Christ, so even as January draws to a close, we keep watching and learning!
Our readings this Sunday are from Deuteronomy 18:15-20 (where Moses witnesses to God’s communication to him that an even greater ‘prophet’ will come in future who will proclaim the words of the Lord) and Mark 1:21-28 (when, early in his ministry, Jesus surprises many with his teaching and also his acts of healing of disturbed and ignored people, which show how humbly and authentically Jesus lives the love of God). Jesus’ unique message, saving power and also humility help us discern the true authority of our caring and loving God in His Son’s life among us.
We offer an activity for youngsters during the service, and, as ever, coffee and tea for fellowship afterwards.
We look forward to being with and worshipping with you!
