For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Holy Communion (5th Sunday of Lent)

This coming Sunday, March 26th, is the Fifth Sunday of Lent, also known as Passion Sunday, and we will share a service of Holy Communion together.
This Sunday begins Passiontide, the last fortnight before Easter, where we focus more and more on Jesus’ own suffering and journey to the Cross. And our readings for this Sunday are from Ezekiel 37:1-14 (God promises life in a valley of dry bones) and John 11:28-45 (where Jesus raises his deceased friend Lazarus). Both give us hope beyond the pain of this mortal life!
We’re also very pleased that Tollin Thumra will preach!
We hope you can join us and look forward to worshipping and sharing with you this Sunday.
Please don’t forget that the time changes on Saturday night, and that the clocks go forward. So our service will feel an hour earlier than usual, but will still be officially at 10:30!
There will be a children’s activity offered during the service as well, and coffee and tea afterwards.
The liturgy booklet for the service is here: Grace Church Eucharist, 5th Sunday of Lent (Prayer E) ’23
Blessings and until soon!
