For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Holy Communion (1st Sunday of Advent)

Grace Service of Holy Communion (1st of Advent)

This Sunday, the First of Advent, we have our mid-morning service of Holy Communion, in-person in the church building and online.
The Revd Dorienke de Vries (from Arnhem-Nijmegen) will be preaching and celebrating, and our main Bible readings are from Psalm 25 and Luke 21:25-36 (where Jesus encourages his disciples to stay awake and look forward to redemption, even when things look bad). These readings speak to us about waiting in the dark, but with hope!
We continue to ask all adult attendees to wear face masks when singing and moving about, as our building is compact. But when seated, we can remove the masks.
If you are feeling unwell, it’s best to stay home to keep yourself and others safe. We will provide a livestream, so all can take part from wherever they are.
The livestream will be on our Grace Church YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVa4IiKGWhIsV61Xktuxcog
Advance registration is no longer required, but still encouraged, so we can prepare the worship space well.
If you plan to come in person, you can inform us by either:
1) responding with ‘Going’ to this Facebook event invitation,
or
2) sending a message via email to chaplaingracechurchgn@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing you if you can join us.
All the best and every blessing!
