For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Holy Communion, 12th Sunday after Trinity

This Sunday we gather to celebrate and share Holy Communion together at 10:30 am.

Interestingly, after our last service’s Gospel reading about Jesus walking on water and also rescuing Peter, this Sunday’s Gospel reveals Peter strikingly recognizing Jesus as the Messiah (Matthew 16:13-20)! And Paul’s letter to the Romans also reflects on our calling, as the Body of Christ, to identify with Jesus, and seek to serve in the ways we are gifted and called (Romans 12:1-8).

Both readings ask us to think deeply about who Jesus is to us and who we then, as a result, are as his followers — how do we think and how do we live and share his love? Who he is definitely informs who we are!

During the service, for our youngest members, we’ll offer a children’s activity too, and afterwards, we will enjoy coffee and tea together.

We do hope you can join us, and look forward to seeing you!
