For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word (2nd after Trinity)

Greetings all! This coming Sunday (June 9), we celebrate a Service of the Word together on the Second Sunday after Trinity.

Our Bible readings delve into Jesus’ true identity (often challenged by others) and the extraordinary gifts he offers us.

We’ll reflect on passages from 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1, where Paul shares about the great motivation and hope given by the Resurrection, and Mark 3:20-35, when Jesus is challenged by both family and scribes about what motivates him and how he relates to us. Jesus responds by witnessing that God’s Spirit drives him, and all who seek to live God’s will are his family. The Gospel passage is intentionally challenging to Jesus, but he responds wisely and again prompts his questioners to think about what they say, so that they will understand better that Jesus serves God and wants us all to.

As ever, we also offer a children’s activity during the service, and after worship, we will enjoy coffee, tea and fellowship together.

All welcome, and we look forward to worshiping and sharing with you this Sunday!
