For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word (3rd Sunday of Easter)

In this season (and we hope, always!), we continue to celebrate the wonders of the Risen Christ!

And our Scripture readings remind us again how challenging the resurrected Jesus’ appearance to his troubled disciples was, and yet also how crucial and vital it was for restoring, empowering and enthusing them to live new lives of witness. (Luke 24:36b-48)

Jesus gave his revived people a new mission, to share his love and life, and they did so, and Peter, who had even denied Jesus before, is healed and insists on bringing healing to others, as seen in Acts 3:12-19, too.

These readings show us that Jesus accepts those who had denied him, and how we too, like his first disciples, even and especially in the face of difficulties and mistakes, can learn more and do and live better in, with and for Him.

We will celebrate our worship also with wonderful Gospel music from the great singer, Elvis Presley, who also underwent many challenges, but grew in faith.

During the service, there will also be a children’s activity, and afterwards we will share coffee, tea and fellowship together.

We look forward to sharing this rejuvenating Easter worship with you this Sunday!
