‘Passion Week’ (14 to 18 March, various venues)
Passion Week started in 2014 when ‘The Passion’, organized by the EO & KRO, happened in Groningen. It offers activities for students, designed to acquaint those unfamiliar with the Christian faith with the central message of the Gospel, in the run-up to Easter. All six Christian student-unions will again take part this year. Every evening there will be talks by various speakers on a variety of subjects linked to the theme:‘(Re)Search’ — both the personal ‘search’ for meaning and the broader ‘research’ questions about faith and science in the academic context. In addition, there will be ‘Lunch talks’, where objections to the Christian faith will be discussed over a free meal. Finally, there will also be adebate evening in the Academiegebouw, where a Christian and an Atheist philosopher will discuss ‘Does God exist?’
How to help The Passion Team – the 9 students who’ve taken the responsibility to organize it all – would be thrilled by the support of fellow Christians in Groningen. There are a number of ways to help:
Prayer: send an e-mail to passionteamgroningen@gmail.com to subscribe to the prayer letter, so you can help pray for the event!
Volunteering: send an e-mail to passionteamgroningen@gmail.com if you would like to help and how.
Donations: If you’d like to support Passion Week financially, please donate to the account of G. Timmermans, bank number NL33 INGB 0700 8531 38, mentioning: ‘Passionweek 2016’.
Thank you!
