For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Originally from the US, I came to Europe for graduate study, but then fell in love with my future wife and the Continent, and followed a calling into ordained pastoral ministry in the Church of England.  I trained at Cranmer Hall, St John’s College, in Durham, England, and have served in the Diocese in Europe ever since, first in Bern and Neuchâtel (Switzerland), then Arnhem, Nijmegen and Twente (East Netherlands) and now in Groningen (North Netherlands), where we are helping build up a vibrant new congregation, Grace Anglican Church.  I am a University Chaplain and also Assistant Director of Ordinands for the Diocese in Europe, and have served as Area Dean for the Netherlands (2015-2017).  I am also Archdeacon for Northwest Europe (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) and am working on a PhD at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
