This coming Sunday, March 22nd, is the Fifth Sunday of Lent, also known as Passion Sunday, and we will share a service of Holy Communion together.
This Sunday begins Passiontide, the last fortnight before Easter, where we focus more and more on Jesus’ own suffering and journey to the Cross, a humble sacrifice that frees us from so much of our own trouble and ultimately leads us to new life.
Our main Gospel reading is from John, chapter 11, where Jesus courageously goes to raise his deceased friend Lazarus, and caringly comforts family and others along the way. And our reading from Romans 8 reminds us of the huge value of this new life in the Spirit we are offered by God and to share with others.
There will be a children’s activity offered during the service as well, and coffee and tea afterwards.
After the service, we will have some bring-and-share food and fellowship, and then have our Annual Meeting after 12:30.
We hope you can join us and look forward to worshipping and sharing with you this Sunday. Blessings and until soon!
