This Sunday we gather for worship and to share Holy Communion with each other, on the First Sunday of the prayerful and reflective Lenten season.
Our Old Testament reading (from Genesis 2 & 3) sadly reminds us of how deception and temptation have hurt humanity, as we see in the story of Adam and Eve.
But in our Gospel reading (Matthew 4:1-11) we see how Jesus’ wonderful example can encourage us greatly, not only to resist falsehood and temptation, but also to look for and defend the truth. Jesus ultimately wants to save us from all our difficulties and restore us to better things.
So Lent reminds us of our challenges, but also points us to Christ and shows us how He accompanies us and is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
We will provide activity sheets for our youngsters. And after the service, we will share coffee and tea for warm fellowship together.
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing in worship and communion with you. See you soon!
