For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word with Baptism (Pentecost Sunday)

This Pentecost Sunday, we gather to share worship in thanks for God’s gift of the Spirit, and we also will celebrate a baptism!

We’ll of course have the Acts 2:1-21 first Pentecost reading telling of the Spirit descending on and filling the faithful believers gathered together and mystifying those around them. And our Gospel reading is from John 14:8-17, 25-27, where Jesus clarifies to Philip, who asks Him to show them the Father, that in Christ Himself we humans experience the presence of God. And Jesus also promises the Spirit to those who believe and love, to receive. Very powerful passages for this special Sunday, and we give thanks, too, for a child being baptized today.

During the service, we will also offer a children’s activity for our youngsters, and afterwards, we also welcome all to share coffee, tea and fellowship together.

We welcome you, and look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
