For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of Holy Communion (6th Sunday of Easter)

This Sunday (25 May), we gather together for worship and to share Holy Communion together.

Our Scripture readings are from Acts 16:9-15 (where Paul, Silas and Timothy find themselves, unexpectedly, but led by the Spirit, in Philippi, where a gentile woman, Lydia, is open to God and is baptized — the first European, and the beginning of the first church in Greece!) and John 14:23-29 (when Jesus shares with his disciples about following the Word of God with love, and also promises the care and power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit to come into the hearts of those who believe). These show how the transforming love for and of Christ leads to following his Word, through mutual indwelling with the Holy Spirit. And Eliza will be preaching for us this Sunday!

We will also have a children’s activity during the service, and afterwards will share coffee, tea, food and fellowship together.

All welcome, and we look forward to being with you this Sunday!
