For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word (4th Sunday after Trinity)

This Sunday (July 13), we come together for a Service of the Word, and may the Lord’s words speak to us!

Our very timely and relevant Bible readings from Colossians 1:1-14 (where Paul gives thanks for the community of faith that has survived in Colossae, and points them to how God wants them to continue bearing good fruit and looking to the kingdom of light which Jesus brings) and from Luke 10:25-37 (the parable of the Good Samaritan, arguably Jesus’ most famous parable, about how an unexpected person lives out the love of God in a generous and caring way that should speak to all of us). In our world, where too many discourage us from helping others, we need to listen to and to live what Jesus teaches, to build toward his better Kingdom for all in need.

During the service, we will offer a children’s activity, and afterwards, we also welcome all to share coffee, tea and fellowship together.

We welcome you, and look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
