For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Holy Communion (4th Sunday of the Month)

Grace Holy Communion

Coming Sunday, November 22nd, we gather again for worship at 10:30am, but will also provide a livestream (details below).

This will be the Last Sunday before Advent, also celebrated as Christ the King Sunday!  Our readings for Sunday are from Ephesians 1:15-23 (where Paul gives thanks for fellow believers and prays for hope, faith, courage and confidence in  the glorious work of God) and Matthew 25:31-46 (Jesus tells another powerful parable about the shep and the goats, where the King comes into glory, and rewards his sheep who live out his compassion for others).

We welcome you to join us in person, if you can, and will continue to do our best to ensure everyone’s health and safety in the current conditions.  (If you are feeling sick, please do stay home, and enjoy our livestream [details below]; we’ll keep you in our prayers.)

We now adhere to a 30-person-limit for the church building, including those leading and helping coordinate.  So in addition to the 5 people welcoming, leading, playing music, and preaching, we have space for about 25 people.  All attendees over the age of 12 need wear face coverings.  (You may bring your own, but we will also certainly provide them on the day for any and all who need them.)  Though we can enjoy beautiful worship music, we are not to sing along.  During worship and afterwards, we maintain social distancing, and we depart the building in an orderly fashion immediately after the service.

If you would like to attend, and to guarantee a space, please request a place by 17:00 on Saturday, November 21st.

Please do so by:

1) responding with ‘Going’ to this Facebook event invitation, or

2) sending a message via email to chaplaingracechurchgn@gmail.com

If you plan to come with others, please do let us know precisely how many.

If you cannot attend, for health or other reasons, we will plan to livestream the service in our Grace Church Groningen Facebook group and hope also afterwards to post a recording of it on our Grace Church YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVa4IiKGWhIsV61Xktuxcog

Please note:

  • There will be a children’s activity offered at the church on Sunday afternoon at 14:00! If you would like to come, please let us know by responding ‘Going’ to the Kids Activity Event in the Grace Church Facebook group or send an e-mail to chaplaingracechurchgn@gmail.com, again by the Saturday evening.
  • Unfortunately, there can be no coffee/tea time after our morning service in the building itself.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday if you can join us!
