For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word (6th Sunday of Easter)

This Sunday, continuing to enjoy the Easter season, we gather to celebrate and share a Service of the Word together at 10:30 am.

Our Bible readings are from John’s Gospel (John 14:15-21), when Jesus, consoling his friends, promises them the comforting and guiding Holy Spirit; from 1 Peter 3:13-22 (Peter encourages hope and perseverance in the good life of faith); and from Acts 17:22-31 (where Paul inspiringly draws Athenians to new faith in God, who is not yet known to them). These are fascinating and appealing readings that, as ever, were vital then and remain relevant now, for we need and have God’s Spirit to sustain us in our challenges.

During the service, for our youngest members, we’ll offer a children’s activity too, and afterwards, we will enjoy coffee and tea together.

We look forward to worshipping and fellowship with you!
