This coming Sunday, February 26th, is the First Sunday of Lent, and we will share a service of Holy Communion together.
And we’re also delighted that the Revd Kasta Dip will preach!
Lent is an annual opportunity to focus ourselves more and more on our vital relationship with Christ. As our greatest friend and example, he also showed us, even in extreme difficulty, how to resist evil. Our Gospel reading is from Matthew 4:1-11. This was just part of his whole committed mission to recover us from darkness and give us new life through his even greater sacrifice on the cross — to lift us out of the mess we had been in for so long (our other reading is from Genesis 2 & 3).
So we do hope this Lenten season of prayer and reflection, fasting and doing good, will strengthen our faith and hope in Christ’s salvation for us, and help us to follow him more closely.
We look forward to worshipping and sharing with you this Sunday!
There will be a children’s activity offered during the service as well, and coffee and tea afterwards.
