For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of Holy Communion (2nd Sunday before Lent)

This Sunday (February 23rd), we come together to celebrate Holy Communion on this Second Sunday before the beginning of the season of Lent.

The Scripture readings that inspire our worship are from the Gospel of Luke (8:22-25) (when Jesus calms the storm on the lake, which awakens his disciples all the more to who he really is and what he can do), and Revelation 4 (where we have an extraordinary vision of what ultimate worship will be like, when we all join together before the heavenly throne!). Both of these passages give us revealing glimpses of our God and Saviour, whom we are called to trust and follow, through all the challenges we face.

We will also give special attention this Sunday to the Church’s call to protect and be safe for all, and to care for those in difficulty, as we reflect together and pray for sound safeguarding.

We will also to offer a children’s activity during the service, and afterwards will share coffee, tea and fellowship together.

And please note, too, that our church’s electoral roll needs to be renewed by this year, by 7 March, so if you would like to be on it and haven’t filled in a form for it yet, please email the chaplain at chaplaingracechurchgn@gmail.com , and we can provide you the form, thanks!

All welcome, and we very much look forward to being with you this Sunday!
