For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of Morning Prayer (Remembrance Sunday)

On Sunday, November 10th, we gather again for worship at 10:30am.

In addition to it being the 3rd Sunday before Advent, November 10th is Remembrance Sunday, when we honor those who have lost their lives in conflict, and also when we remember and light candles for beloved friends and family members who have passed away in this or in recent years.

If you would like to have someone commemorated in the service, please do send the Chaplain their full name (first and last names), by November 9th if possible (though names can be added in person, on the day, of course). You may send the names by e-mail to chaplaingracechurchgn@gmail.com or leave a telephone message at 050 785 0703.

Our readings for Remembrance Sunday this year are from Jonah 3:1-5, 10 (where Jonah’s message has an effect!); Hebrews 9:24-28 (reminding us how Christ has gone before us and how his sacrifice makes way for us); and Mark 1:14-20 (when Jesus reminds his followers that the Kingdom is coming, and that they need to change, and some do and follow Him immediately).

During the service we will offer an activity for our youngest members, and after the service we will share coffee, tea and fellowship. We wish you well and look forward to being with you for this important Sunday!
