This Sunday (October 13), we share a Service of the Word together on the Twentieth Sunday after Trinity.
Our readings this Sunday are from Hebrews 4:12-16, which reminds us of the penetrating power of God’s vision and word, but also, too, of the humble and compassionate way Christ gave himself for us, to lift us ultimately up to heaven. And also from Mark 10:17-31, where Jesus teaches a rich man about the kingdom of God, and also reassures Peter and others that their sacrifice in serving Christ will be rewarded in a different, more important sense.
Challenging and inspiring passages, as ever, reminding us of how Jesus wants us to yearn for what is good and far greater and better than what we often seek. We look forward to reflecting on them.
We’ll also offer a children’s activity during the service, and after worship, we will of course share coffee, tea and fellowship together.
All are most welcome, and we look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
