For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.’ (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Grace Church Service of the Word, 10th Sunday after Trinity

After the summer break, we come together again this Sunday to share a Service of the Word at 10:30 am.

Our readings are the amazing passages from 1 Kings 19:9-18 (where God speaks in remarkable ways to Elijah, who is literally holed up in a cave with concerns, after successfully standing up against the prophets of Baal, but then being hunted by Jezebel) and Matthew 14:22-33 (when Jesus walks the water to bring calm to his worried disciples in a wind-battered boat). Both show how God brings peace in the storm to those of faith, but also calls His people to rise to the challenge [with God’s help, of course] to follow Him further.

During the service, for our youngest members, we will offer a children’s activity too, and afterwards, we all enjoy coffee and tea and further fellowship together.

We do hope you can join us, and look forward to seeing you!
